A Visit To The Snow Hill Nunnery

We have some dear, close friends that live at the Historic Snow Hill Nunnery. It is no longer a nunnery but it has kept the name and is now, just a historic property that is owned by the original Seventh Day German Baptist congregation that established it in 1758. The church rents the property out to a farmer and several families.

Our dear, close friends happen to be one of the families. We love to visit our friends and enjoy the beauty of the historic site. Here is a picture of the original church. It is currently not being used for service but I believe they give tours if requested.

(You can see from the picture that we have has some rain. Everything is green again.)

The church is across the small field from the house so, as you can see, the children have plenty of room to run and play. Sissy and the other children her age decided to enjoy the cool stream that runs through the property.

Here she is with some of her friends. They said that they were swimming. It was more walking and splashing than swimming but they had a great time.

Curly was not interested in the water and Little Man was busy playing with the other small children and had an opportunity to hold one of the chicks. He was so cute and the chick was so content, I must have taken almost ten pictures of them. Of course, I have to show at least one.

The rest of us sat at the picnic table in the shade of a large tree and enjoyed the pleasant day and conversation.
