I've been browsing the internet for inspiration and I have noticed the abundance of white in cottage/country/shabby chic decorating. While it is very pretty, it's just not for me.
I'm A Colorful Person.... & I Want Color!!!!
I want lots and lots of color. I want variety. I want .... well, you get the point.
That's not to say that there is anything wrong with all of that white. As I said before, it is very pretty... but how practical is it? When is it appropriate? When is it just too sterile and uninviting?
If you like ultra modern then sterile white is definitely for you. If you have no children or livestock, you can easily get away with lots of white. Do you like frilly frou-frou? Then white could be your go-to color. I just don't fit into any of these categories.
For us, white is very useful for spring cleaning the rabbitry and hen house. I also like white for picket fences. When it comes to furniture, picture frames, and decorative elements... natural materials and colors are what draws me. They sort of grab me and yell in their many voices for variety of color, texture and size.
So when I hang my towels out on the line, you will see the many colors of me. I have no time for whites.
