We had strawberries earlier in the year from the two beds planted several years ago. They may give us a second harvest but I am not holding my breath. They were supposed to be replanted in a new bed but that never happened. We may get to that this summer.
Also, I had planted Walking onions in several beds last fall, spring and the fall before last. Those are doing very well and, in fact, they are doing so well that I will probably be working on them for a week or two.

Besides what we over-wintered, we sewed some radish and carrot seeds and planted half a bed of potatoes. The carrots never came up but the radishes were used for dip. There were a few left in the ground and those are in the process of making seeds. I've never saved seed from radishes before but we love these particular ones, so I am happy with the coming seeds.

The potatoes are flowering and will be ready to dig once the plants die. I had the children plant them this year so I have no idea what to expect. It was fun for them, so that is always a plus.

After I realized that I was not going to have a real garden, I decided that I had better pick up a few tomato and pepper plants. Those I planted just off the back patio, otherwise I'd never pay any attention to them.

My patio is also bordered by two hyssop plants that were put there several years ago. I don't use them but the children really love the liquorice hyssop, it tastes like black liquorice. Both of these need to be divided. If you want some, come over and dig a piece to take home.
