Field Trip To Landis Valley Museum

How did it rain today!!!!

But we had fun anyway !!!!

We stopped by the tavern to see what was cooking, and my all the smells that were there.

Then on to the potters to see the wares that he had made on the foot operated potters wheel.

The sheep sheer was canceled because of the rain so we went and enjoyed a story and hands on activity with wool.

Next on the lane was the General Store and all of the fun stuff within.

We saw a woman caning a chair, she explained all about what she was doing.

Then came the butter churning. We shook and shook our jar of milk fat until the butter came. Very yummy!

On to the one room shcool house and a lesson for the day.

There is always time for a horse drawn wagon ride, even in the rain.

Making fire with a flint is very hard, we learned first hand.

Candle dipping on the other hand is very easy and fun!

The children's most favorite part of the day was spinning and taking home a jump rope.

Mommy's favorite part was the gardening area. We each took home a few heirloom seeds for our own gardens.

The we went around and toured all of the buildings on the property and looked at all of the animals.

To see the pictures, come on over and take a look. You know that we have many from today! :)
