Blooming Peas

Well, the peas are blooming but about three feet too short. The variety that I planted are called Telephone Pole Peas and last year they grew to six foot tall. This year they are only about three foot, probably due to being planted so late. I will have to remember to get them in no matter what the weather, in the years to come.

Here is a picture that I took last evening. Gives a little of an idea. Not a great photo due to the low light.

On the other hand, the corn is doing great! Taller than the farmers corn. I must have gotten mine in before him. Also, there are some melons that self seeded last year and they came up wonderfully.

My eggplant, peppers and tomatoes didn't come up so I purchased some at the Apple Blossom Market. She has the best prices and when she first gets her plants in, there is a good variety. Only one of my cucumber came up so I got some more of those also.

I added another garden bed for pumpkins and planted the seeds last week. They came up in a matter of days. They are beauties! Supposed to have 5 or so fruit on each vine with each fruit only big enough for one pie. That sounds just fine to me!
