First Harvest

So we were able to harvest some produce from our garden today. Here is a big dish pan full of tall telephone pole peas. I love these peas. They are super easy to pick, easy to shell and sweet when cooked.

 
A few years ago we didn't plant any peas and went to a pick your own farm instead. They had the regular peas and I had a hard time picking.
 
Apparently I am spoiled since my peas are pole peas and I don't have to bend to pick them. Also, these peas are large with thin shells. That makes it a lot of fun to shell them. You start with a bowl of peas to shell and you end up with a full bowl of shelled peas when you are done.
